"Virtual Courses" refers to pre-recorded lessons students can use on their own between classes. "Zoom Classes" refers to the live, interactive Zoom classes that meet each week. All students use the virtual course, but for a more interactive experience, many students also join a live Zoom class once or twice a week!

Kids Piano is best for beginners ages 4-12 and Masterworks Masterclasses is best for beginners ages 13+ or students of any age with 1-2 years of prior experience.

In Kids Piano, we start by learning the fundamentals of music. In Volume 1, we learn 33 songs for 1 hand. In Volume 2, we add a simple left-hand part to those same songs; in Volume 3, we start adding chords.

After that, most students graduate into my Masterworks Program where we begin learning standard notation; since they already know how to play the piano, learning traditional notes is MUCH easier because all they have to focus on is reading the notes.

If you don't know anything about music, have no fear! Learning together with your child is easy and fun for many parents who want to be involved, but if you'd like this to be an independent activity for your son or daughter, live classes are the better choice!

Although most music classes are taught in groups - like band, orchestra, and choir - piano was traditionally taught in private lessons because the instrument was so big and loud that it was impractical to teach in groups. But thanks to digital keyboards, all of that has changed. We're entering a new era of music education where kids can get a better start to music with the most fundamental musical instrument: the piano!

Many students start with a 61 key keyboard for their first 1-3 years before they eventually upgrade to a full-size 88 key keyboard or a traditional piano.

Most students aren't sure if they'll enjoy learning music before they start, and because flexibility is important to a lot of families, I let students join for just one month at a time to try it, and start, stop, or pause any time!

It's harder to be goofy and playful when you're stressed, and my easy-to-read notation for kids removes most of the stress compared to traditional ways. When notes are easier to read, music is easier to learn, which is also why my students can even learn so successfully in groups together with other kids, who add extra dimensions of fun to class with each of their personalities, too! Basically, learning music is better when it's social!
